This should not be a concern as far as conventional saves go. Its been some time since I last bothered to check as I normally open my files after opening spine, but I can not find my saves which should be in the spine folder through simply browsing my hard drive. They seem to be accounted for when I use spine to search for them, but any new saves or exports (regardless of file type) are failing to show up in the Spine folder when viewed off program files. I intend to make backups and I REALLY want to generate gifs but I have no way of accessing them outside of the Spine application. I even tried running as admin which for some reason, can not open files in the Spine application. This is very confusing and I doubt normal behavior for the application. Please tell me if there is something I've failed to note or if the spine file format is not readable/discover able without the application. My gif exports should be discoverable from program files though, so its quite odd.
