  • Is it possible to use Spine without being connected to inet?

Hi,

I have bought spine just some weeks ago. I'm liking it but the problem is that after activate it, I still need to be connected to the internet to use it. Some times, I don't have data connection and can't use it. Is there any way to use it offline?

Cheers.

You should try disconnecting from the internet and then launching Spine. It should work.

I have done that, and I always get the connecting to.... and afterwards a message saying that it needs inet :/.

block it on the firewall?

The way it should work: Spine needs an internet connection the first time it is run in order to download the latest update. After that, it doesn't need an internet connection to run again.

There is a problem where users report that Spine downloads a new update every time it starts. Unfortunately, this is hard for us to fix as we have not been able to reproduce the problem, despite trying it on many different computers. If this same problem is happening to you, it could be that Spine thinks its update is invalid and that it must download an update. In that case if you don't have an internet, Spine fails to start because it thinks it doesn't have a valid update.

Can you post your Spine log? Are you running Spine in a virtual machine?

This is exactly my problem.

Where are this log files placed?

Cheers.

Windows: <user home folder>\Spine\spine.log
Mac: <user home folder>/Library/Application Support/Spine/spine.log
Linux: <user home folder>/.spine/spine.log

Here is the log file:

Spine Launcher 3.0.15
Windows 10 Pro x86 6.2
Java 1.7.0_06 Esoteric Software
32-bit Server VM
Download required. (2560)
Downloading: Spine 3.2.01
Update complete.
Spine 3.2.01 Professional, LWJGL
Licensed to: *****, *****
NVIDIA Corporation
GeForce GTX 970/PCIe/SSE2
4.5.0 NVIDIA 359.00

This has happened after installing spine in a second computer. On the first one everything is ok. But the second is the one I need to use without inet connection 🙂.

P.D. Could it be, that the launcher version is different from the file in updates folder?

Cheers
