The spine editor only allows me to create one event of each name, and the parameters are tied to that name. Is it possible to send the same named event but with different parameters?

jdbones Yes, event properties can be changed when adding event keys during animation. This is explained on the Keys page of the Spine User Guide:

Yep, like bones and other things, events have "setup" values but you can set different values when you key them.
