Can you please describe what doesn't work? What error messages do you get? I've tested the latest 4.2 branch in VS22, with CMake support installed, and it works as intended.
Once installed, open VS22, click on "Open a local folder", then select the spine-runtimes/spine-sdl directory. VS22 will then invoke CMake and you should see output like this.
Finally, select the spine-sdl-cpp-example from the launch config drop down.
