png with additive export with black screen
this are few vfx that i added behind books they are png with black bg and i changed blending to additive and then i want to export books with vfx only not with main background behind and it looks like this.... is this bug still remains i'm using latest stable 4.0.56 :o
You didn't describe your actual problem (what you expected and what you got) but generally additive blending is most useful at runtime, where the background under the images varies. In a static image the additive blending is combined with the background color and that's all that can be done. The PNG format doesn't know anything about additive blending. More here:
Export - Spine User Guide: Additive blending
here's 2 images of books with vfx with and without bg in spine .... i want to export png sequence for short video not game, i want to export (books+vfx) without bg and edit in after effects, but i get eventually black screen behind every vfx png, didn't happen before
Thanks. You've explained and showed what you see in Spine, but what do you see when you export? What export settings do you use?
BTW, make sure you are really using 4.0.56. A few versions older had an issue with additive and image/video export.
Using 4.0.56 I made spineboy's head additive and exported with a background color. I don't get black behind the head. Bild entfernt wegen fehlender Unterstützung für HTTPS. | Trotzdem zeigen
If you are exporting for images or video, why are you using additive? You are likely better off using normal blending.
yeah i get to understand additive more, i'm using gifs to png sequence for vfx with black bg thats why i need additive or screen ..... but it seems i need background behind whole scene for blending to work   .... anyway thanks alot nate for the fast response much appreciated :$
Ahh, I understand now. Your additive images are opaque and use black instead of alpha. When you use a transparent background, you can see the black. This is because Spine can't do additive blending when then background is transparent: the result would be transparent. We tried that (in 4.0.55 I think), but it wasn't a good change so we went back to Spine showing the additive image as normal where the background is transparent. That is usually what users want to see, instead of nothing.
You have two options:
1) Don't use additive blending. If you are doing image/video export with a solid or transparent background, it doesn't benefit you anyway.
2) Change your additive images so they use transparency instead of black.
sure i will consider this options next time thanks a lot nate i really appreciate your help    :handshake: :ohyeah: :bananatime:  :$
No problem, glad to help! It is a little tricky.
